WHS Coordinator
- Hybrid role based in Docklands with regular site travel (Pakenham) + periodic travel to Tasmania

We are currently seeking an early careers safety professional to join our team based in Docklands. This entry-level position is ideal for someone eager to apply their WHS knowledge while gaining hands-on experience in a fast-paced operational environment. You will be supporting the National Safety Manager across our Nursery sites in both Victoria and Tasmania, and responsible for maintaining and updating documentation and systems, supporting training and induction programs, and promoting initiatives across the sites. Under the guidance of the National Safety Manager, you will be exposed to best-practice safety methodologies and have opportunities to grow your skills whilst making meaningful impacts.
Some of your key responsibilities will include:
- Spend regular time on site supporting leaders with hazard identification, risk controls and action closure.
- Coordinate and improve inductions, contractor onboarding and training records in the Safety Management System.
- Support incident and hazard reporting follow-up (triage, documentation quality, action tracking).
- Help deliver safety initiatives (toolbox support, engagement activities and wellbeing initiatives).
- Maintain registers and documentation so they’re accurate, current and useful in the field.
- Coordinate H&S Committee meeting admin (agenda/minutes/actions)
- Be the nominated Skytrust administrator (SOPs, training, hazards/actions)
- Emergency drills, Respiratory Protection Program, TMP mapping support, focus audits, and lab safety admin
- Working with sites to promote safety engagement and wellbeing initiatives.
- Working closely with the National Health and Safety Manager on a variety of safety-related activities across our Victorian and Tasmanian nursery sites.
ABOUT YOU
- At least 1-3 years’ experience in a safety admin or similar role.
- WHS qualification (Cert IV / Diploma / Degree in WHS/OHS or similar).
- Good written and verbal communication skills; and interpersonal relationship building skills.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Willingness to travel to sites (Victoria and Tasmania as required) and current drivers license.
- Valid unrestricted Australian working rights.
