Test Plot Supervisor

THE OPPORTUNITY….

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of our Tasmania regional team, overseeing the day-to-day running of our R&D test plot facility. Working closely with the Applied Research Manager and local Agronomy team, you will be responsible for monitoring test plot crops across all four of our berry categories.

You will be executing trials across irrigation, fertigation, and pest and disease programs and working towards putting together best-practice protocols to achieve optimal fruit yield and quality. You will also be supervising and coordinating the day-to-day operational activities of the site including labour resourcing, planning and scheduling as well as ensuring compliance with all site safety and maintenance activities.

Some of your key duties will extend to:

• Supervising the growing and trial activities extending to crop husbandry practices
• Contributing to trial parameters including set up, layout and execution plans
• Supervising the planning and harvesting activities on the site
• Collecting and analysing all trial and harvest data and maintaining data integrity
• Providing regular reports to Agronomy team
• Packing and dispatching of fruit to DC’s

To be considered for this role you will need to be able to demonstrate the following in your application:

• Completion of tertiary qualifications in Agronomy or Plant Science preferred but not essential
• Some research experience preferred but not essential
• Previous exp. providing supervision to small teams/temp labour
• Chemical Spraying Certification preferred but can provide on-the-job training.
• Unrestricted drivers’ licence and full Australian working rights.
