National Distribution Manager

THE OPPORTUNITY

We have an exciting new role for a National Distribution Manager to lead our distribution network across the plant and fruit supply chains, spanning Cherry Hill (Tasmania), Coffs Harbour (NSW), Bundaberg and Ningi (QLD). Reporting to the National Supply Chain Manager, this role will oversee a national team of regional Distribution Managers and drive the execution of strategic distribution initiatives.

You will play a key role in overseeing DC operations, providing sound leadership, and implementing best practice operational processes and systems. Additionally, you will ensure compliance with QA standards, regulatory requirements, and retailer specifications. You will work closely with the National Supply Chain Manager on broader supply chain strategies, including budgeting, P&L performance, and the planning and delivery of capital expenditure projects.

 

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and supporting regional managers to ensure smooth operations across all DCs.
  • Collaborating cross-functionally to ensure the distribution network supports the broader plant and supply chain strategy.
  • Providing operational and strategic guidance across the supply chains.
  • Reviewing and enhancing distribution network protocols, documentation, and SOPs to disseminate across all DC sites.
  • Ensuring DCs meet Heavy Vehicle Regulations and Chain of Responsibility requirements.
  • Championing continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, cost reduction, timing, and quality.
  • Managing day-to-day people issues and demonstrating role model leadership.
  • Managing and reporting on P&L performance across the distribution network.


SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

To be considered for this role, applicants will need to demonstrate capabilities in the following:

  • Tertiary qualifications in supply chain or related discipline is advantageous 
  • Experience in supply chain management including leading multi-disciplinary teams
  • Experience in developing and maintaining high-performance teams and culture
  • Exposure to cold chain storage is desirable
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Ability to apply a continuous improvement approach
  • Safety conscious with an understanding of best-practice warehouse safety systems and processes
  • Ability to travel interstate on a regular basis
