Irrigation Supervisor

THE OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking an experienced Irrigation Supervisor to coordinate all irrigation and fertigation activities across our site. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for ensuring optimal plant growth, production outcomes, and system performance. You will oversee the planning and execution of daily irrigation operations, including programming irrigation cycles, managing fertigation recipes, and ensuring accurate application across a range of plant types. In addition, you will also be responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting and continuous improvement of irrigation systems, ensuring reliability, efficiency and best practice operations across the site.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

• Supervise daily irrigation and fertigation activities across multiple nursery areas. 
• Oversee the operation, maintenance and repair of irrigation and climate systems.
• Monitor crops and adjust irrigation programs to ensure optimal fertigation and plant health and performance. 
• Lead troubleshooting and preventative maintenance activities. 
• Manage water usage, reporting and irrigation efficiency improvements
• Develop and maintain irrigation SOPs
• Train, support and supervise irrigation operators and nursery staff
• Ensure all activities comply with safety standards and company procedures.

ABOUT YOU

To be considered for this role, applicants will need to demonstrate the following capabilities:

• Previous experience supervising irrigation operations in a nursery, horticulture, or agricultural environment 
• Strong technical knowledge of operating and maintaining irrigation systems (hydraulics, pumps, controllers, and fertigation)
• Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve irrigation issues 
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of water management and plant nutrition
• Certificate III in Irrigation or equivalent (preferred)
• Nursery Crop Experience (highly regarded)
• Strong communication and team leadership skills
• A valid driver’s license 
• Full, unrestricted Australian working rights
