THE OPPORTUNITY
We are looking for an Irrigation Operator to join our Nursery team in Victoria. In this hands-on role, you will report to the Irrigation Supervisor and work closely with the irrigation and nursery teams, contributing to seasonal operations and helping achieve production targets. You will be responsible for operating and maintaining irrigation systems, mixing and applying fertilisers and monitoring crop performance and support sustainable water management practices.
Some of your key responsibilities will include:
- Install, operate, and maintain irrigation systems including pumps, pipes, sprinklers, and drip tape.
- Monitor crops and adjust irrigation programs to ensure optimal fertigation and plant health.
- Prepare and mix fertilisers, manage irrigation cycles, and troubleshoot system issues.
- Operate spraying equipment and apply pesticides in line with safety and compliance standards.
- Tractor operations with attachments to support irrigation and crop management activities.
- Report water usage and contribute to sustainable water management practices.
- Support nursery operations and seasonal tasks as required.
- Ensure all activities comply with safety standards and company procedures.
ABOUT YOU
To be considered for this role, applicants will need to demonstrate the following capabilities:
- Experience operating and maintaining irrigation systems (pumps, pipes, sprinklers, drip tape)
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve irrigation issues effectively
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Basic understanding of water management and plant nutrition
- Certificate III in Irrigation or equivalent (preferred)
- Chemical handling Certification
- Greenhouse / Glasshouse Crop Experience
- Nursery Crop Experience
- Strong Communication skills
- Valid unrestricted Australian working rights
