THE OPPORTUNITY

We’re looking for a motivated Irrigation Operator to join our team and play a key role in managing irrigation and fertigation activities. In this hands-on role, you'll be responsible for operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting irrigation systems to ensure optimal plant growth. You’ll also assist with installations, repairs, and programming irrigation schedules while making recommendations to improve efficiency. Your key duties will include:

• Install, operate, and maintain irrigation systems, including pumps, pipes, sprinklers, and drip tape.
• Manage and troubleshoot Priva and Argus irrigation programs to optimise plant health.
• Monitor crops to ensure accurate and timely irrigation applications.
• Prepare and mix fertilisers for fertigation systems.
• Identify and implement best practice water management strategies for sustainability.
• Support nursery operations, including irrigation setup and material stocktaking.
• Perform spraying duties as required for plant care and pest management.
• Maintain safety standards, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations.

• Previous experience with farming processes including plant nutrition and water management is preferred
• Basic understanding of irrigation systems, sprinklers, pipes, fittings, pumps, filtration and water treatment issues
• Cert III in Irrigation or equivalent is preferred
• Chemical certification is required
• Competent in Microsoft excel with good computer skills are essential
• Ability to work flexible hours and weekends as required
• Valid driver's license
• Full working rights
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
