Assistant Accountant

THE OPPORTUNITY
This is a great opportunity to contribute to a dynamic and growing organisation and develop your career in Finance.
You will support the Nursery finance team by maintaining financial records, processing accounts payable, invoice reconciliation, month-end/year-end tasks, inventory management, and assisting with accurate financial reporting.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
- Maintain and report financial documents, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
- Assist with invoice coding, reconciliation, accounts receivable, and accounts payable using SAP.
- Assist with reconciling invoices for labour hire, ensuring accuracy and alignment with contractual agreements.
- Support month-end and year-end closing procedures, ensuring timely journal entries and reconciliations.
- Participate in inventory counts, reconcile discrepancies, record monthly stock movements, and ensure accurate data entry in the system.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
To be considered for this role, applicants will need to demonstrate capabilities in the following:
- Tertiary Qualifications in Accounting is essential
- Previous experience in a similar role within manufacturing and/or horticulture environment is preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and with some exposure to SAP and BI tools
- High levels of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong time management skills with a focus on meeting deadlines
- Strong verbal communication skills and able to work well with all levels of business stakeholders
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Effective in cross-functional team collaboration
- A demonstrated commitment to safety, compliance, and fostering a positive team culture.
- Valid, unrestricted Australian working rights
