THE OPPORTUNITY

Are you passionate about agronomy and eager to make an impact? Join our NSW team in Coffs Harbour as an Agronomist to help drive the growth and success of our growers in this region. In this rewarding role, you’ll be working closely with our berry growers by providing in-field technical support, ensuring that best practice agronomic principles are followed to achieve exceptional plant yield and growth. You will benefit from the guidance of experienced technical leads, along with access to internal mentorship and hands-on training designed to strengthen your technical expertise and practical skills.

 

Some of your key duties in this role will extend to:

  • Conducting regular field visits, interacting directly with growers to understand their unique needs, and providing tailored recommendations based on their specific circumstances.
  • Utilising your knowledge of agronomic principles to assist growers in optimising crop production, resolving challenges, and implementing cutting-edge farming techniques extending to nutrition, pest & disease, and plant health programs. 
  • Driving grower activities, including crop forecasting, plant supply coordination, and participating in annual planning meetings.
  • Disseminating Food Quality Standards, guidelines and protocols, and assisting in the development of site documentation and protocols.
  • Providing regular technical observational and operational reports to the regional management team.
  • Staying up to date with the latest advancements in agricultural technologies, market trends, and scientific research, and sharing these insights to your team and growers. 

 

ABOUT YOU

To be considered you will need to be able to demonstrate the following in your application:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Agronomy or Plant Science preferred but not essential.
  • Experience in related roles within the industry will also be considered
  • Proficiency in the use of Excel – basic level
  • Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work under limited supervision.
  • Unrestricted drivers’ licence and full Australian working rights.
